Brockway Mountain Drive in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan – Amazing

Another Michigan adventure!

During our wonderful road trip vacation of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula this August we were told about Brockway Mountain Drive, the scenic roadway just west of Copper Harbor. Everyone that we talked to about it said we had to take the drive to see the amazing views.

OK, we were in! The roadway is just under 9 miles and there are several spots along the way where you can stop and take a look at the amazing scenery. The main pull off spot has ample parking and even a public bathroom (a welcome sight for me that day!).

The drive will have your vehicle climbing to 1,320 feet above sea level, 720 feet above the surface of Lake Superior. That is really high – and I am not much of a fan of heights. However, this is well worth the journey!

We did a short little video for you to enjoy, and then Jim did the unthinkable (to me) and went out towards the very edge to get more footage for you. He is a crazy man, and while others were also doing this, to me it just seemed like a way to die. Period. Falling off that edge would mean death and if you have a fear of heights it seemed pretty real.

So I went back in the Captiva and waited.

Enjoy the video and you can find more videos on our YouTube channel.

What a guy, and what a memory!
